Hello blog readers. friends, and followers!

Did you almost give up on us? Thought we would never blog again?

Don't worry, it was just Christmas in the flower shop!! Now we are back to normal and have a minute to update you lovely people.

The holiday was fantastic and we hope business, family and life was as sweet to you as it was to us.

We have almost completely de-sparkled and de-iced our displays and we are ready for SPRING!!!!.....but wait...it's still Winter....and (florists, I know this is a scary thought) Valentines Day is just around the corner!

So....we are keeping the "crispness" of winter, without all the red and green.

I've added some photos of our new windows. We still have more to add but this will give you an idea on what we are doing. This week we get a fresh batch of succulents so we are excited to get our "terrarium on" with those!

Also! excited news! More Airplants are on the way. We love airplants and are so glad you all love them too!

Without you.....we would not be able to be so creative and inventive. Thank you for being the best customers in the world!!!

Christmas Terrariums

Have we mentioned that we love terrariums around here?
Any sort of terrarium will do. Living, non-living, moss, ornament, mini, air, water, fresh flower, hanging......I can go on and on.
This year, for the first time, Jennifer has MADE us some vinyl terrariums. We know it took her a long time and we LOVE them. We stuffed them with mosses, lichen branches, glass chips and stones. Sometimes a small xmas santa or sparkly bird to keep it fun and colourful.
We also have a new addition to our store. Living rocks! Or Lithops as they are also called. They are native to South African desert, these little darlings disguise themselves as rocks to preserve their water. They also have pretty flowers and change colour when they get lots of sun. cool!!

Happy Thursday Everyone!

I thought I would do a quick post about centerpieces. Most people usually want one for themselves or at least have one to gift each year. Festive centerpieces are some of the best, I think, because we get to add that little bit of extra sparkle that is maybe not as appropriate the rest of the year.

Fall is in the air!

Monday's are such a nice blogging day for me.

Today I am sharing some pictures of pretty things we made last week. We got in a few BEAUTIFUL oncidium orchids and we are in love with them. Lauren potted them up and they are stunning.

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch!!!!!!

We went to the pumpkin patch yesterday and picked up some pretties for our fall display and arrangements.

White and orange pumpkins as well as gourds and other mini squash are available for your purchase!!

Hi All!

I feel like I haven't blogged in forever. I KNOW that I have not been doing my Monday/Wednesday posting.....we are coming back into our busy busy time and I think we will scale down to 1 posting a week.

Since Summer is coming to an end (I know, it hurts but we have to continue on!) we have been having a big sale on our more summery health and beauty lines. Mimosa Trees

I love mimosa trees.

They are so beautiful. Last week we discovered one in the gardens here at the Park and Tilford. At first I didn't know what it was as I have only seen the mimosa trees with small yellow ball-flowers. (Also super cute) After a quick google search for "pink puff ball tree" I fell in love.

Apparently they are quite intrusive and can cause many people to have allergies to them...but I don't care...I STILL love them!!

They attract butterflies and hummingbirds. Everyone loves those things. They are hardy and can grow up to 40 feet tall!!

Good Morning!

Everything is well in the world this Monday....and that's how I like it!

So far this week is going great! I've changed both the window displays and cleaned out the cooler. Phew!

I also did tons more plantings and bouquets. . YAY!

We are getting more and more attention for our terrariums and air plants. Everyone loves them, and I can't blame them. There is something about having plants completely enclosed in glass that makes it feel like you are peering into another small world......maybe that's just me...

Either way, I am slowing transforming my own home to have as many little worlds as I can fit in. All shapes and sizes, nooked here and there.

Continuing this week is a great sale on all our soaps and bubble baths - 30% off any brand in the store. Come in and replenish your gift closet. Feel free to pick up one for yourself at the same time!!

Sorry for my skipped posting this past Monday...it was BC DAY and I was out enjoying our beautiful city like the rest of the province.

Iris is back from vacation today! YAY!

Welcome back Iris!!

We got another stunning auction yesterday. Favs for the weeks are defiantly ZINNIAS and DAHLIAS....see pics below. Beaaaaauuuuuuutiful colors and so so fresh....mmm.....summer flowers.

Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening.....wherever you are!

Trucking along here through a mostly sunny Monday. I hope you are all doing the same. :)

Iris is on vacation this week (gone to Alberta with the fam!) so Jennifer and I will be keeping things in order for the next 10 days ourselves. Have a great time Iris, if you are reading this! We miss you already...even though this would normally be your day off.....ANYWAY!

We just got in new Compendium cards (one of our best selling card lines) and I've spent the last 1/2 hour or so pricing them and getting them on the shelves. Hurry to check them out...they never last long!

I was just looking at them all to try and pick my favorite quote and share it here, but I can't pick!!!

Good afternoon, you fine bunch of humans!

Monday again, so quickly....lots to report though.

Last week flew, we received new boxes of pots and vases...and TERRARIUMS!

I have to hand it to Jennifer, she knows how to keep us happy over here, just buy us new stuff all the time! Haha, we have such pretty pretty shells and stones, mosses and sands, pods and pieces, it is truly inspirational.

Did I mention we got Venus fly traps in last week? Iris made the best planters last week with them. Planted very low in a soft blue egg of a vase. She added ivy and polka dot plants to make them extra special and visually pleasing. They are that!!

I've added photos of our new window display this week. The idea is summer lemonade stand. Cute! Check out the new hanging light bulb terrariums. We have the potted up with succulents and sedums starting at $24.98.

Iris is going on vacation next week and then Jennifer after that, so I feel like this is the calm before the storm. That being said, customers keep coming in so I better get off the computer and make some more bouquets!!!

Hello!

It is a pretty Monday, and I'm happy to have a moment to update!

The store is looking so beautiful right now. I have been away for a week and feel so lucky to have this magical little spot to come back too. I was thinking this morning, (as I was getting ready for work), how special it is to really REALLY love your job. Personally, working in floral makes me a happy lady. Arranging cuts, potting up cute plants and stunning orchids makes my world whole. I love making people happy and their houses beautiful with things that I create with my hands. Anyway, I am excited for the week and seeing all my regulars whom I've missed throughout my small vaca.

Now, on to more important things.....FLOWERS! Peonies are such a killer price right now, anyone near by should really pick some up for your kitchen or living room. They smell amazing and our peonies are not covered in ants like your own garden flowers may be!!! Totally worth the extra gas and pennies if you ask me! :)

Dahlias are also holding their own right now! We have pretty pinks and deeply romantic burgundies to get you started.

Oh yes!

I've been thinking about the hot summer months and the best way you can use cut flowers and get your money's worth. We all know extreme heat makes your cut flowers fade quickly....sad but true. Why not try a bouquet made mostly of tropical greens? They are long lasters that enjoy the heat! All the different greens and textures will brighten up your room for sure, but if you need a pop of colour we can easily do that with a stem or two (or three!) of your choice...like lilies, a few roses, callas or....one of my favorite garden flowers.....peonies, dahlias, scabiosa or stock!

To add visual value and make your arrangement even more long lasting, splurge on a stem of cymbidium orchids that can 2+ weeks! We have too many ideas to list some come into the store yourself and pick our brains!!!

Hello Beautiful World!

It has been a minute, hasn't it?

Here is a quick catch up since our last (Mother's Day) post...

It is now officially Summer. It has been a slow start this year, weather-wise, but the sun is now out and the summer dresses (and maybe in some cases leather shorts!!) are on in full force!

About a month ago we received our first shipment of Air plants (Air Fern, Tillansdsia).
We love them.
We love to make them into terrariums of all shapes and sizes, and tuck them in surprising places maybe you wouldn't think of right away. Popping them in orchid planters, candle holders and even as a keepsake in a traditional hand-tied bouquet! It's really fun, and an easy care plant/gift. Also, (as always),we have awesome cut flowers. I love this time of year....so gardeny and airy. My favs right now would have to be Dahlias, Scabiosa, Eryngium, Lupins, and (of course) Peonies!
Honestly, everything is so pretty, I could have just listed everything I'm looking at in the cooler as well....the stock, veronica, and snaps are just beautiful right now. How will you choose?!

We just went through Grad season and I think Iris gets the award for making 30 corsages in one afternoon!! All went smoothly though at the end of it, and we thank her for the awesome work!!

We are also in full Wedding season now, and Jennifer has her hands full! As far as I can see on the calender Jennifer has consultations, weddings and events lined up, so if you need us for an upcoming event...call us now to book a time and day :)

Every week this summer we will offer a "Weekly Special"..this week we have 30% off all Dayna Decker products. Candles, Diffusers, lotions and hand soap. They would make a great Teacher gift or just pick one up for a nice treat for yourself.

Mother's Day week

Happy Mother's day week!!

Now that I have my cup of Jasmine green tea and a few moments to think, I am so excited about this week. It's time to think about my Mom and all of the wondeful things that she has done for me and each and every member of our family. Now that I am a Mom myself to 3 wonderful little boys, I marvel even more and appreciate how easily my Mom always seems to accomplish EVERYTHING in a day while keeping a cheerful smile on her face. Sometimes this is not easy, but we as Mom's know that our family depends on us for all of the little things (as well as life's daily routine).

This week is all about celebrating Mother's everywhere. Iris, Chandi and myself are all excited about what you will see in our store this week. It is chalk- a- block full of THE MOST AMAZING fresh flowers, unusual indoor and outdoor plants and planters. We live in one of the most wonderful places and our local growers produce the best product around. We love allium, peonies, tulips, lily of the valley, gerbera daisies, double calla lilies, Viburnum, double lisianthus.......I could literally go on forever as we have them all!

For those Moms who love beautiful fragrant luxuries we are all in love with Lollia by Margot Elena. Beautifully packaged bath salts, bubble bath, hand cream, soap and even perfume.

We are so excited to share this beautiful time of year with you.

Exciting Updates!

Good Morning World!

We are having another busy week here in our sweet shop. There is so much to write about I don't even know where to start!
We received 30 boxes (so far) of new pots, vases and planters. Everything from modern white cubes, to HUGE bright green vases, to country style hanging planters. My personal favorite is our new hanging terrarium "light bulb" containers....pics to come soon of them all decked out!!

Jennifer and I also had a super fun week, last week, getting 2 new computers installed in the store. We officially switched from paper to machine, and well....it's going good now but it was a hard switch for sure!! Now though, we can stay even MORE organized and keep in touch with our customers (YOU) even better.

Maybe the most exciting news this week is that we have a new designer with us full time! Her name is Iris and she is so lovely. She has years of valuable experience and is a true gem to have with us. WELCOME IRIS!!!!
I promise when we have a moment, I will get a picture of her up here today. Even better, drop by the shop and meet her yourself :)

Hello! Jennifer and I are having a great week, changing around the store, making pretty flower things and taking care of our best customers..YOU! We just got in what I think is my favorite line yet of hand creams, perfumes, soaps and bath salts....LOLLIA! Imagine, Relax and Wish are the scent names and they are just that! Soothing, clean, and affordable!!

Also, I would like to announce that we got our first PEONIES of the season. The best flower in the world if you are asking me. :)
